Contract type: Fulltime 40 hours a week, duration is One year with the option for a permanent contract after the first year after positive evaluation.
MHF is a not-for-profit organization: working locally and regionally, the foundation continues to develop as a primary and secondary provider and strengthens and preserves its care products. MHF is doing this by optimizing the current care proposition, whereby it makes clear the choices in respect to the products it will continue to deliver.
The foundations mission statement: to make available quality psychiatric care, based on agreed budgets and tariffs, by providing guidance and therapy to individuals and groups. The foundation hopes to prevent acute and unsafe situations for patients and families by recommending alternative lifestyles to individuals and families and monitoring their progress.
The vision: the foundation maintains a professional and integral approach, broadly supported by the population and guaranteeing continuity of mental health care. All possible will be done to achieve the mission of the foundation by proposing innovations and participating in the planning and the execution of the innovations.
The Psychiatrist must be able to work fulltime and provide professional diagnosis and treatment to the patients and clients of the foundation within the frameworks set by the Management and Board of the Mental Health Foundation and to comply with the legal legislations established by the Government of Sint Maarten.
Being the only psychiatric institution on Sint Maarten that provide care for the Mentally challenged or disabled in the community, Mental Health Foundation provides 7 care products:
Admissions, Crisis intervention, Clinic care (outpatient and inpatient), Ambulant Nursing Care, Short & Long Stay, Day care treatment Center and Compliance &Outreach Department. The full-time psychiatrist will be medically responsible for all 7 care products, sees patients in the clinic and will be on-call for crisis intervention services. Fluent knowledge of the English language is a requirement, knowledge of the Dutch and Spanish language is an asset. Being in possession of a BIG Registration is an asset.
We are looking for a medical doctor with a psychiatric specialization, with experience in working in the field of psychiatry in a social environment.
